Zaeema Ahmad, PhD
Clinical Director and Registered Psychotherapist
I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAHMP). I hold a PhD. degree in Clinical Psychology and have extensive experience in providing therapy to individuals dealing with various mental health challenges. I have dedicated over 20 years to the field of mental health, encompassing academia, research, and clinical work in diverse settings such as hospitals, universities, and private practices. My journey has taken me across different countries and cultures, enriching my understanding of human experiences and mental health. Currently, I also serve as an instructor at a bridging program that supports immigrant mental health professionals who wish to work in the field of mental health in Ontario. I provide clinical supervision to Psychotherapists working towards their registration with CRPO.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAHMP). I hold a PhD. degree in Clinical Psychology and my extensive experience of over 20 years in academics, research and clinical practise in the field of mental health allows me to provide compassionate support to adults, youth, and couples or families navigating a variety of challenges.My work has focused on developing culturally sensitive assessment tools, understanding various factors contributing to individuals mental well being, exploring the role of obstacles and protective factors in mental health, as well as efficacy of different therapeutic techniques that address the unique needs of diverse populations. I am dedicated to fostering a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings, make sense of their experiences and work towards healing and growth.

As a dedicated and compassionate mental health professional, I am committed to providing impactful therapy and support to individuals facing mental health challenges. With over five years of experience in the field, I have honed my skills in evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), enabling me to effectively address a wide range of mental health concerns. My journey in mental health spans diverse settings, including private practice and community organizations, where I have had the privilege of working with both adults and children. Utilizing the tools and techniques of therapy, my objective is to empower clients by equipping them with tangible strategies for emotional regulation during times of crisis. Moreover, I aim to assist clients in identifying and transforming patterns of thinking and behavior that may be perpetuating distress in their lives.
