At Choosing To Heal, we offer in-person psychotherapy in Mississauga and secure online therapy across Ontario for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship issues.

Will my psychotherapy session be covered by OHIP or insurance?
Psychotherapy services in private practice are not covered by OHIP. OHIP generally only covers mental health services provided by physicians (such as psychiatrists) or in hospital and some publicly funded settings.
Many extended health benefits and private insurance plans in Canada do cover psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). Coverage varies by plan, so please check your benefits to see whether services provided by a “psychotherapist” is included. After each session, you will receive a receipt with your therapist’s registration number that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Can I do therapy in a language other than English?
Yes. Our psychotherapists in Mississauga and across Ontario offer counselling in English, Urdu, Hindi, Ukrainian, Russian, and Persian/Dari, so you can attend therapy in the language you feel most comfortable with.
How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
All of our psychotherapists are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), have Master’s or PhD-level education, and bring extensive experience using different evidence-based modalities. Our team also offers a free 15minute consultation, so you can meet with a therapist, ask questions, and get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit before booking a full session.
Do you offer a sliding scale fee structure?
I do have limited spots to offer psychotherapy sessions on a sliding scale fee structure (reduced rate). Please let
me know if finances are a concern and I’d be happy to discuss a fee structure that works for you.
